Active management

Active management involves making decisions about buying and selling holdings in a portfolio. Active managers seek to perform in excess of a particular benchmark and aim to achieve other objectives such as sustainable or ethical investing.

Discrete performance

This is the percentage performance of an investment over a specified period of time.
